THE BIRTH OF MAUDS
John Wilson began making ice cream in his grocers store in Carnmoney Village, Country Antrim.
1982
JOHN RENAMES HIS SHOP
John renames his shop in honour of his mother, as a mother’s day gift.
1984
SECOND STORE OPENS
Roberta Wilson opens the second Mauds Ice Cream parlour in Northcott Shopping Centre, Glengormley.
1988
FIRST AWARD SUCCESS
This was a sign of things to come and we haven’t stopped winning since.
1990
NEW FACTORY
Mauds launch new factory in Glenoe Village, Larne.
1991
CARRICK STORE
New store opens in Carrickfergus. It goes on to become Northern Ireland’s busiest ice cream parlour!
1995
NEW DISTRIBUTION CENTRE
Opens in Antrim.
1995 -1996
MORE AWARDS
We win First place for artistic class at the Ice Cream Alliance’s national competition. Vanilla wins the silver cup challenge and first place national ice cream sundae maker of the year, Planet Hollywood, London.
2000
MAUDS MOVES TO CARRICK
A major investment in our own state of the art factory and office complex takes the company to a new level and underpins our position as the provinces most loved ice cream!
2004
CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS
We are crowned champion of champions at the National Ice Cream Alliance competition. The first ice cream producer on the island of Ireland to do so.
2007
HONEYCOMB CAPACITY TRIPLES
New extension built at factory to double ice cream production and triple honeycomb capacity!
2013
THE MAUDS SQUAD
At our premises we host a 3-day retailer and staff event with a level of presentation that will live long in the memory of all who attended.
2018
BANGOR STORE
The Mauds core business takes over the Bangor store and creates its first company-owned flagship parlour.
2020
ORMEAU ROAD STORE
We open our second company-owned parlour on Belfast’s trendy Ormeau Road. Fitted out as an exemplar for the brand.
2023
HOLYWOOD STORE
Our third company-owned store extends our branded parlours to the busy and upscale town of Holywood.
